A devout Christian, Noel had a passion for helping others. After surviving cancer in 1998, Noel was emboldened by her experience to continue learning, seek new opportunities and comfort those handling their own struggles. She made many friends around the world who valued her company and companionship.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Saturday April 29th at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON) from 3:00 – 4:00pm followed by a funeral service.  In memoriam, please consider making a donation to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation (Civic Campus) in Noel’s memory.

I became Noels’ roommate at York University and thoroughly enjoyed our time together. We connected again a few years ago, thanks to Erica tracking me and we picked up again. I’ll miss her notes on here but I know she’s in a better place and finally pain free. You will be remembered dear friend.

My heart goes out to the family. Separation is never easy but we have faith that we will meet again one day. Will continue to pray for everyone.

Our hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
We dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
Rest In Peace dear sister Noel, your courage and smiles always glow on people around you and we will meet again one day in His Glory.

A kind and gentle lady Noel was nether the less a strong and devoted follower of Christ. She loved her family and the body of Christ, was a faithful wife to Matthew, but her first love was her Lord and Saviour. I count it a privilege to call her friend and look forward to reuniting with her one day in the future

Well done good and faithful servant

Noel was an exceptional example of courage and perseverance. Despite her health challenges she continued to fight and trust in God's mercy and faithfulness. She rarely dwell on her own weaknesses but instead chose to focus on encouraging and supporting others in prayer. I will miss her greatly. This bible verse reminds me of Noel's faith journey, "7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 timothy 4:7-8

Noel is sorely missed. Though we had worked together for a short time for a Christian school in HK only but Noel walked the talk n her example as one who truly lived a Christ-centered life will remain in my mind n heart. The assurance of meeting her in eternity comforts me. PingAn.

I met Noel soon after her initial treatments in the late 1990's. I was blessed with the loyal friendship of Vikki, Noel's sister.... and I took Noel out for lunch, excited to meet her. A charming and exuberant woman, I thought of her many times since moving away from Hong Kong.

There is a beautiful quote by Stuart Scott, the late sports anchor, who passed away from cancer. Before he died he accepted an ESPYS award (2014). He said this: “When you die, that does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live.” Noel did all that and more – she beat cancer not only by how she lived, why she lived and the manner in which she lived. She beat cancer because cancer can never take away from any of us all the memories, all the good she did, all the dreams she held in her heart and the love she showed.

Blessings to all of you.
