Passed away in Ottawa, surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 64. Beloved husband of Nicole (neé Galipeau). Loving father of Sébastien (Emily) and Mireille (Rich). Cherished grandfather of Carolanne, Ève and Aiden. Brother of late Rhéa (Jean-Claude), Jackie (Marcel), Claudette (René), late Léo (Marie) and Claire (André). Predeceased by his parents Armand Harvey and Gilberte (neé Gervais). He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues. Jean was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a gentle soul whose actions spoke volumes of his kindness. His warmth and his smile will not be forgotten. He was a loyal employee with the Ottawa Catholic School Board of 32 and a half years.
Family and friends are invited to Beechwood National Memorial Centre (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), for a Visitation on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space Chapel, followed by a Reception. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory to The Eye Foundation of Canada.

So sad to hear , My Sincere Condolences to The Family ,, I knew Jean well , He was such a great fellow to work with , down to earth , always there a helping hand , I worked with Jean for 32years in the Eastern Schools and setting up His workplace at Pope John many years ago ,
Small world , I even bought a Suburu from his Friend at St. Canut , without knowing that was his friend ,,then to hear ,it was where He bought his and spent many summers as a child near by , I had a Trailer nearby and spent summers there

It is sadness in my heart that I hear of Jean's passing. He was a kind and generous man. He had an encyclopedic memory of and a personal library of parts to fix everything that could be fixed. The staff of our libraries (learning commons) appreciated all of his hard work.

We worked together in Planning and Facilities for a few years. Jean’s ergonomically designed work space would qualify him to design spacecrafts. A lovely man with a gentle soul that endeared him to all that came to know him.
