Passed away in Ottawa, surrounded by family on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the age of 64. Beloved husband of Nicole (neé Galipeau). Loving father of Sébastien (Emily) and Mireille (Rich). Cherished grandfather of Carolanne, Ève and Aiden. Brother of late Rhéa (Jean-Claude), Jackie (Marcel), Claudette (René), late Léo (Marie) and Claire (André). Predeceased by his parents Armand Harvey and Gilberte (neé Gervais). He will also be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues.  Jean was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, a gentle soul whose actions spoke volumes of his kindness. His warmth and his smile will not be forgotten. He was a loyal employee with the Ottawa Catholic School Board of 32 and a half years.

Family and friends are invited to Beechwood National Memorial Centre (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), for a Visitation on Monday, March 25, 2024, from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space Chapel, followed by a Reception. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory to The Eye Foundation of Canada.

My sincere condolences to the family. Jean was the kindest and most generous person I ever known. I have worked with Jean for many years and he was always there for his coworkers. So sad to lose such a beautiful, kind, human being.

I got the news of the demise of my very beloved friend Jean from our department LT space. Jean was a very good fellow and I will deeply miss your brotherly friendship, support and encouragement. I never knew that the text I sent to you on March 8th was the last. I pray for strength and comfort upon the family you left behind. May the Lord rest your soul, Amen! RIP Jean

Bon courage
