James F. Munro passed away peacefully watching hockey with his beloved family by his side on December 28th, 2024 at 67 years of age. Jim was the husband & forever soulmate of Kimberley, devoted amazing dad to Jennifer (James Blais), Katherine (Jeffrey Yates) and awesome Grandad to Leah & Mya.
He was predeceased by his parents David & June, was the loving stepson of Jackie; brother of Gary, Jo-Ann (Bruce Torrey), Gail (deceased); and uncle to many nieces & nephews.
Jim graduated from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, and began his 37 year career with ScotiaBank in Florenceville, New Brunswick. His career took him to many maritime destinations and eventually to Ottawa.
Jim loved his sports, golf, hockey, football, curling and Formula One. He was very active in many committees at his golf course, Camelot Golf & Country Club; as well as many other community organizations. He had a passion for gardening that was only outmatched by his love of attending his granddaughters’ sporting events.
Jim was a friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He will “Allways” & Forever be in our hearts.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be planned for the spring.

Jim's endearing legacy is that of a wonderful and loving husband to our dear sister Kim, a very supportive father to Jenn and Katherine, and a caring Grandad to Leah and Mya. It is well known to us that family meant everything to Jim, of that there is no doubt. He has left treasured memories that will be forever engraved in the hearts of his family, and in the hearts of all of us who knew him.

So many great memories of working with Jim (and Kim) here in New Brunswick. Welcoming me to Florenceville as the new trainee in 1981 got me off to great start with the Bank and I am forever grateful to you both. The fun we had curling and playing golf are memories to cherish. Thinking of you all. So sorry to hear of Jim's passing.

I was sad to learn of Jim’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Jim at Ottawa Main Branch as his Assistant Manager. Jim was always thoughtful and kind to me. Jim had a great wit and sense of humour and we shared many laughs as we went about our daily duties of running a large and complex branch. Jim taught me a lot about the operations of a branch and was always willing to share his knowledge.
My heartfelt condolences to Kim, his girls and grandchildren. Jim spoke of you often with love and pride. Jim will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace Jim.
