Throughout its long history the Mounted Police has depended upon strong, diverse and committed civilian and volunteer sectors to support policing operations and administration in communities across Canada and even internationally. From rural and municipal detachments, district and divisional offices to the National Headquarters, the work of public service employees has been crucial to the success of the RCMP. Many of these employees, such as the critically important detachment clerks have spent their entire careers working alongside police officers to ensure the security of our communities.
Today, public service employees at the national, provincial/territorial, municipal and local level continue to work tirelessly with the RCMP to support policing in a variety of roles that include administration, strategic planning, financial management, media and communications, human resources, and so much more.
The exceptional efforts of many in the public service today and throughout the history of the RCMP have contributed to our public safety.
