It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Josée Villeneuve, who passed away peacefully on June 2 at The Ottawa Hospital General Campus at the age of 55 after a battle with cancer.

Born in Québec, she leaves to mourn her beloved husband, Patrick Boulanger; her children, Meghan and Ann-Sofy; her adored grandson, Jace; her parents, Paul and Micheline; her late parents-in-law, Normand and Céline Boulanger; her brothers, Éric and Sacha (Karine); her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chantal (Guevens) and Steeve (Christine); as well as her many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She also leaves behind her dear friends, Sylvie Ouellette and Louise Berrigan.

Josée was known for being an extraordinary mother and grandmother, a humble and generous person who spread joy wherever she went. She passed on values of sharing, compassion, and empathy to everyone whose life she touched.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, June 15, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Beechwood National Memorial Centre.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the medical team at The Ottawa Hospital – General Campus, with special thanks to Dr. Zayed for the attentive and compassionate care provided during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

  5. My deepest condolences. I didn’t know Josée long but she was an incredible person to work with. Her compassion and dedication were easily felt with the files she handled. Thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. 🙏
