It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sigrid M. Caron of Orleans, Ontario, on June 6, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born in Germany in 1940, Sigrid met a young Canadian soldier, Donald, who she made the courageous journey to Canada with, beginning a new life despite not yet speaking English. Together, they shared 26 years of marriage and raised two beautiful daughters. Donald predeceased her in 1986.

Sigrid later found companionship with her common-law partner, Robert, with whom she shared many happy years before his passing in 2026.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Carmen (Tony); her grandchildren Alex (Erin), Ryan (Brittany), and Katelyn (Ryan); and her cherished great-grandchildren Addyson, Archer, Beau, Charlie, and Murphy. She is also survived by her sisters Edda (Sheldon), Inge, and Rena, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Sigrid was predeceased by her husband Donald, her partner Robert, her daughter Sandra, her sister Irmie, and her parents, Herbert and Margarete.

She had a deep love for travel, camping, gardening, and quiet moments spent watching her favorite TV shows.

The family will receive condolences in the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre on Monday, June 15, 2026 starting at 11:00am with funeral service that begin at 1:00pm.

  1. Dear Carmen, Tony and family
My heartfelt condolences being sent your way with the loss of your Mom. I know she will be sadly missed. Like with my Mom’s passing, I found comfort with knowing she is with my Dad, I hope you find that too.
The waves of grief show up unannounced but so do the signs that you are being watched over. Take care,
    Sincerely, Lisa

  2. Tony and Family,
I send you my deepest condolences for your loss. May you celebrate Sigrid’s life and remember all the happy moments she created to help ease your loss and pain!

    Regards,
    Dave LaPointe
