Robert Joseph Ovila Lamoureux, born March 17, 1933, in Montrรฉal, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at Perley Health at the age of 93. Though born in the city, he always considered Rollet, Quรฉbec, his true home.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Monika (nรฉe Kraft), his son Richard, and his brothers Lรฉo, Michel, and Gรฉrard.

Robert was the eldest son of Blanche and Florimond Lamoureux. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1958 until his retirement in 1983, completing more than two decades of dedicated service. His career took him across Canada and to Germany during the height of the Cold War, reflecting both the demands of the era and his steadfast commitment to duty.

He is survived by his sons Dirk (Amy), Royal Canadian Air Force Major (Retired), whose wife Amy proudly serves as a Colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and Andrรฉ (Ursula), a dedicated Lieutenantโ€‘Commander currently serving in the Royal Canadian Navy. Their continued service reflects the strong tradition shaped by Robertโ€™s example.

Robert leaves behind his granddaughters Natasha, Emilie, and Samantha, and his greatโ€‘granddaughter Rylee. He is also survived by his siblings Pauline, Lise, and Renรฉ.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Comerton and all the staff of Rideau 1 South at Perley Health for their exceptional care and support over the past five years.

Robert lived with commitment, discipline, and a quiet sense of duty. A man of few words, he showed his strength through steady actions rather than speeches. Those who knew him will remember his calm presence and unwavering reliability. His family carries forward the values he lived withโ€”quiet integrity and steadfastness.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 2, 2026, at Beechwood National Military Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, followed by a reception. All who wish to pay their respects are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Perley Health Foundation are gratefully welcomed.
