It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Chevrier at the age of 92 on October 29, 2026, three weeks after the loss of his beloved wife, Denise, with whom he shared 61 years of love and affection. He was the cherished father of Andrée, Robert Jr. (Lise Chamberland), and Louise (Natalie Leger), and the proud grandfather of Martin (Michal), Stéphanie (François), and Émilie. He leaves behind his brothers, Jean and Bernard, and his sisters, Lucie, Adèle and Marie. He is also fondly remembered by a circle of close friends, whose decades of friendship he truly treasured.
Deeply devoted to his family, Robert was a loving husband and dedicated father and grandfather who took great pride and joy in being present for those he loved. A man of steadfast loyalty, he held a profound appreciation for his family and the lifelong friendships he nurtured throughout his life.
Robert will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and warm, welcoming nature. He had a remarkable gift for making others feel at ease, whether they were family, lifelong friends or someone he had only just met. His quiet acts of benevolence and genuine concern for others left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
A Funeral service will be held at the chapel of the Beechwood Cemetery at 280 Beechwood Avenue on Friday, November 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive condolences beginning at 11:30 a.m. A reception will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Robert to the Montfort Hospital Foundation or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
