It is with hearts full of gratitude for a life richly lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Monique Le Floch (née Dessaint) on October 10, 2026, at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, just days before her 80th birthday. She was surrounded by her two beloved sons, Joël and Daniel, and her daughter-in-law, Tasleem.

Born on October 14, 1946, in Sarsfield, Ontario, Monique lived her life with kindness, generosity, love, and an unshakeable faith in God that remained a source of strength and comfort throughout her life.

Monique had a special way with people and took a genuine interest in everyone she met. She was thoughtful and generous, often pouring her creativity into gifts and small gestures that made others feel remembered and cared for.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Joël and Daniel, her daughter-in-law Tasleem, and her brothers and sisters, Pierrette, Louise, Denis, Camille, Robert, Mireille, Jean-Marc, André, Anne, and France, as well as her extended family and many friends.

Monique was predeceased by her husband, Guy Le Floch; her parents, Germaine and Jean-Noël Dessaint; and her brother, François.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the team at Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice for their compassionate care of Monique in her final days, to Dr. Andrew Douglas of Community Palliative Medicine Associates for the comfort and warmth he brought through his home visits, and to the dedicated doctors and nurses of the Ottawa Hospital Nephrology Clinic for their attentive care over many years.

Monique’s gentle spirit, unwavering faith, generosity, and love will live on in all those whose lives she touched.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life to be held at the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, located at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive condolences beginning at 9:00 a.m.
