It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Matthew on June 26, 2026, at the age of 43. He will be forever loved and missed by his wife Jennifer. He was a proud, devoted, and loving father to Kyle and Cohen, who loved him dearly and will carry his memory with them always. Beloved son of John (predeceased) and Marilyn. Cherished son-in-law of Jim (predeceased) and Ann Marie. Much-loved brother of Stephen (Victoria) and Adam. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, Skye, Emma, Grace, Ethan, and Colton, as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues and the Castors hockey community.
Family and friends are invited to Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), for a Visitation on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 10 a.m. in Beechwood’s Sacred Space followed by a Reception and a private Interment.
