It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce Rafuse on July 14, 2026, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late MWO Hector Rafuse. Dedicated, loving mother of Ross (Nancy), Neil (Cindy), Andy (Kerri), and Michael (Michelle). Cherished Nanny to Jim, Emmalee, Stephen, Cameron, Hannah, Danicka and Alexandra, as well as Great Nanny to 7 great grandsons.

Predeceased by her parents Phillip Anglehart and Malvina Larivière, and her sister, Patricia. Lovingly remembered by her siblings Arlene (Robert), Phillip (Deborah), and Diane (Billy).

She will be remembered fondly by Hector’s children and their families, her nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

She was born September 19, 1940, in Timmins , Ontario. She moved to Calumet Island, PQ, at age 2, where she grew up with her loving family. She eventually moved to Ottawa, where she completed her training in Nursing, an appropriate career for such a loving and caring person.

Thank you very much to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grace Manor, for their kind and compassionate care of Joyce in her final years.

Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday August 20th in the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa after 1:00pm,  Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ottawa Grace Manor, and the Alzheimer Society.
