Portrait of Joyce Evelyn Harrietha (née Day)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Joyce Evelyn Harrietha (née Day) on July 20, 2026, at the age of 91, born May 18, 1935.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Leonard Harrietha. She leaves behind her children, Joseph (Roxanne) Harrietha and Sherry (Richard) Hammond. She was the proud grandmother of three loving granddaughters, McKaila (and her fiancé, Steven), Lindsey, and Madison.  Joyce is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Broeckel, and her sister-in-law, Violet MacKinnon Jarvis.

Her last day was spent making precious memories with her daughter. When her time came, she was surrounded by her family, passing away with those who meant the most to her by her side.

Joyce enjoyed a lifetime of being artistic, whether she was sewing, knitting, or exploring a new craft. She had a creative spirit and was always curious and experimental in discovering new ways to express herself through art. Listening to music, dancing and reading were also a big part of what kept her lively and smiling.

In recent years, Joyce found great joy in living with her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters. She treasured being surrounded by family, laughing and taking part in the simple moments of everyday family life. Those precious times brought her happiness and will remain cherished memories for the family.

Joyce will be deeply missed and remembered by her family and friends.  Her kindness, wisdom and love will remain with all who knew her.

Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. That was Joyce, a family friend, who was kind, caring and a loyal friend to our mother, Marilyn. Joyce had the kind of grace and beauty that shone from the inside out, and she was always such a pleasure to be around. Her warmth lives on not just in our memories, but in the beautiful quilts she crafted for each of us.
Wishing her family the love of friends and family, strength to face each day and warm memories to forever hold on too.
Rest in peace, Joyce. You will be missed!
Love, Dianne, Joanne, Carol, Sharon, Mike and Marlene Haydamak
