Surrounded by the love of his family, Joseph Alfred “Fred” LeBlanc passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 84, after a brief battle with cancer.
Fred was born on February 8, 1942, in Richibouctou, New Brunswick. Although his roots remained firmly planted in his beloved Acadian homeland, he spent more than four decades in the Ottawa region, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and devotion to those he loved.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, Henri Jacques LeBlanc and Angelina (Collette) LeBlanc.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 52 years, Francine (Léger) LeBlanc; his daughters, Barbara and Becky; and his son, Sébastien. He was a proud grandfather to Vanessa, Adam, Kristopher, Alisha, John-Daniel (J.D.), Zakary, Antony, and Alexy, and was blessed with several great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers, John and Jacques (Jackie) LeBlanc.
Fred was a man of quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family. His gentle nature, generous spirit, and steady presence touched many lives and will leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew him.
