It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Patricia Halliday at the age of 85, August 14, 2026.  She was surrounded by family during her last days at St-Vincent Hospital in Ottawa. Her final breath was taken in a circle of love, held by the hands that she first taught how to hold.

Born on January 24, 1941, in Kingston, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Dean Halliday and Patricia Goyer.  Survived by her sister Darlene (Michael) Benson and her brother Shane (Aileen 2026) Halliday.

She was predeceased by her husbands Rolland Lauzon (2025) and Emil Rehak (2017) father of her children.

She leaves behind her children, Katherine, Kellie, Patricia (Rick), Robin (Karola), Jennifer (Ken) Deanna (Emmanuel) and stepson Emil (Zsuzsanna).  Joan will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Victoria, David, Valerie, Joe, Kati, Matthew, Nicholas, Wyatt, Tristan, Kaitlynn, Michaela, Gabriel, Katalin, Elizabeth and Emil and her many great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She will be dearly missed.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Thursday, August 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, August 28, from 12:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in Beechwood’s Sacred Space on Friday, August 28, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan Patricia to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
