It is with sadness that we announce the death of Charles Edward Knowles, who passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 76. After courageously battling cancer for several years, he died from complications related to COPD.
Born on May 12, 1949, in Lachine, Quebec, he was raised in Saint Anne de Bellevue and attended high school there. He graduated from Carleton University, in Ottawa. Charles was happiest outdoors surrounded by nature. He was a husband, father, brother, and uncle. He leaves his wife, Michele, his son, Spencer, of whom he was extremely proud and his siblings Louise (decd. Ken), George (Liz), Alice (decd. George), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Louise Boak Burns (Knowles) and Robert Arthur Knowles.
Charles life will be remembered on Friday, October 16 at 1:00 pm at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa, at which time his ashes will be interred alongside his parents. For those wishing to attend, please assemble at the main office at the entrance of the cemetery at 280 Beechwood Avenue. We will then be escorted to the burial site for the ceremony. Anyone wishing to say a few words will be welcome to do so.
