Donald James Ambrose Houlahan passed away on June 29, 2026, at the age of 95 years. Don is reunited with the love of his life Janet Houlahan (nee Prettie) predeceased.

Born in Ottawa on February 3, 1931, and is the loving father of Michael (Pauline), Patti and predeceased son Daniel (Debra).

Don enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1950. He proudly served for 36 years in the MSE Section, attaining the rank of Master Warrant Officer. During his tenure, he completed postings across Canada, U.S. and Europe earning the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) and the Special Services Medal before retiring in 1986. An avid sportsman, Don was a competitive curler, golfer and youth hockey coach. He loved Buick Rivieras and was a loyal Ottawa Senators fan.

Donald was a cherished grandfather to Kathleen Houlahan (Peter Nasr), Mitchell Houlahan (Briana De Souza), Jack Houlahan, Kristin Malone (Jeff Wiebe), Kevin Malone (Andrea Malone), Riley Houlahan, and Ben Houlahan. He was a proud great-grandfather to Matilda, Thomas, and Kate Nasr; Emilia and Simone Houlahan; Jessica and Charlotte Wiebe; and Spencer, Carter, and Elliott Malone, all of whom he loved to brag about. He was predeceased by his siblings John Houlahan, Ken Houlahan, and Mary Lou McGuire. Donald will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him. A viewing will be held at Beechwood Cemetery on Monday, July 6th, 2026, at 10am.
