Portrait of Christopher Greenslade Pearce

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Greenslade Pearce on November 1, 2026, after a courageous three-and-a-half-year battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer. Chris was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Born on December 26, 1981, in Ottawa, Chris faced his illness with remarkable strength, resilience, and perseverance. Throughout chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation, surgery, hospital stays, and countless medical appointments, he never allowed cancer to define him. Despite the pain and challenges he faced, Chris continued to fight with unwavering determination. He met every obstacle with positivity, grace, and an inspiring spirit.

Chris was a truly kind and generous person — a person who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether in his work life or personal life, he built genuine connections and touched the lives of many. He will be remembered as an incredible friend: loyal, dependable, thoughtful, and always there when someone needed him.

Above all, Chris was a devoted husband to Nataliya and a loving father to their son, Alexander. His love for his family was at the centre of everything he did.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Nataliya; his cherished son, Alexander; his loving parents, Donna and James; his sister, Kimberley; his niece and nephews; and his loyal dog. He will also be deeply missed by his extended family, colleagues, and many dear friends.

As the family wishes to keep this moment private, there will be no Funeral Service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Chris’s strength, kindness, and generous spirit will live on in everyone whose life he touched. He will be forever loved and deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to support Nataliya and Alexander may contribute through Chris’s GoFundMe
