It is with profound sadness that the family of Catherine “Cat” Anne (McCormick) MacDevitt announces her peaceful passing on July 16, 2026, at the age of 48. Catherine was the beloved wife of Andrew MacDevitt, whose love to one another were the foundation of a life shared with warmth, compassion, and friendship. She was the cherished sister of Craig McCormick(Chantel Souliere) and a loving aunt to Kristofer, Brayden, Connor, and Noah, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy. Also she was  a great aunt to Jaxon ,Lyla and Theodore. Predeceased by her loving parents Kathleen(Evenson)and Robert McCormick. Catherine will be remembered for her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering compassion. Sweet by nature, she had a quiet way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for. Her warmth and generosity enriched the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, Catherine’s memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness. She will be forever loved, deeply missed, and lovingly remembered by her husband, family, extended relatives, dear friends, and all whose lives she brightened.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered love, support, and condolences during this difficult time. A celebration of Catherine’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Catherine’s memory are encouraged to perform an act of kindness or make a donation to the Ottawa Humane Society in her name, reflecting the compassion and generosity that defined her life as well as  her love for animals.

Rest in peace, Catherine. Your kindness, love, and light will remain with us always.

A Celebration of Life to honour Catherine will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 from 1pm-4pm at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa, ON K1L 8A6).
