It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Zareen Kassam Rattansey, who passed away peacefully on October 31, 2026, at the age of 91, after bravely overcoming a number of health issues throughout her life.
Born to her loving parents, Sherbanu Mitha Manji and Habib Kassam Sumar, Zareen brought warmth, resilience, and grace into the world from the very beginning. She was a devoted and fiercely loving mother to her daughters, Aisha MacLeod (née Rattansey), and Akila Lee Reid (née Rattansey). Her legacy of love and strength will also live on through her cherished grandchildren, Connor MacLeod, Griffin MacLeod, and Nicholas Reid.
Zareen was deeply cherished by her large, extended family, with a special place in her heart for her nieces, who adored her dearly. Her kindness, steadfast spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family left a lasting impression on everyone whose life she touched.
The family is deeply grateful for the love and support shown during this time.
