It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Stéphane Bujold, a dedicated husband, father, son and Ottawa Police Officer, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at the age of 47.

Beloved husband of Jane (née Craig). Devoted father of Zachary and Luc. Cherished son of Gisèle and Charles. Dear brother of Christine (Yves Martel) and Mireille. Son-in-law of David Craig and the late Joan Craig. Brother-in-law of Sarah Craig (Adam Shapiro). Proud uncle of Sydney, Leah, and Samuel.

Throughout his 25 years of dedicated service with the Ottawa Police, Stéphane exemplified what it truly meant to serve and protect. Over the course of his distinguished career, he brought his unwavering commitment to the Central F Platoon, the Central District Neighbourhood Office, the Break and Enter Unit, and the Drug Unit. A tirelessly hard worker who poured his heart into every shift, he earned a reputation for someone who consistently went above and beyond the call of duty for his community and his fellow officers. His work ethic, integrity and leadership made him deeply respected by those who had the privilege of working alongside him. Above all, he genuinely loved his job– wearing the badge with immense pride every single day.

Outside of work, Stéphane poured his heart into the rink as a dedicated minor hockey coach, with the Metcalfe Jets, Castor River Canucks and most recently the Gloucester Rangers. He was driven by a genuine love for the sport, and the chance to spend meaningful time with his two sons. Behind the bench, he expected hard work, unyielding effort and discipline. He cared about the development of each player and the compete brought to the ice, while teaching a « team first » mentality grounded in respect. He firmly believed that lessons on the ice built character, shaping not only better hockey players but better human beings.

Above all, his greatest purpose and deepest pride was being a father to Zachary and Luc. He was their biggest fan in every arena of life. Whether teaching them life’s most important lessons, supporting them from the sidelines, or simply sharing a quiet moment, his love for his boys was fierce and unwavering. His true legacy lives on in the strength, kindness and character of the two young men he was so immensely proud to raise.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., followed by interment in the Ottawa Police Service Memorial Cemetery located at Beechwood Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Ottawa Police Association (141 Catherine Street, Ottawa) in Memorial Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.

For those who are not able to attend the Funeral Service, you are invited to do so via Live stream.
