Shahindokht Davalloo

With hearts full of sorrow and gratitude for the life well lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Shahindokht, at the age of 90, in Ottawa, Ontario on Tuesday October 27, 2026.

Shahindokht was the cherished wife of the late Aligholi Etemadi-Zanganeh with whom she shared a life centered on family. She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Lida (Tom) and Kourosh (Mandana), and by her grandchildren, Ryan and Kiana, of whom she was immensely proud and loved dearly.

Shahindokht dedicated her life to family, offering unconditional love, guidance, and support. A devoted mother, she instilled in her children the enduring values of respect, kindness, compassion, and helping others without expectation of recognition or reward.

A woman of many talents and interests, Shahindokht was a talented artist who expressed creativity and beauty in all she did. She delighted family and friends with her delicious Persian meals and desserts, skillfully sewed fashionable clothing for her children and siblings, and found joy in music, nature, and travel. Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength will be remembered by her family and all who knew and loved her.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to dedicated team of Queensway Carleton Hospital’s Park Place whose compassion, kindness and care brought comfort and dignity to Shahindokht during her final months.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a reception at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
