Richard was a dear friend, He loved his children dearly, always ready to help, we will miss him very much, I’m shocked at his passing, we enjoyed going for breakfast together , having good conversation, since the day I met Richard in around 1985, we became great friends, back in the days were he was healthy and very energetic, I remember he worked in construction building homes, and would bike to work, RIP Richard I will miss you, Love Roch

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Richard. He was truly one of the friendliest people I have ever known. Whenever we spent time together in the past, he brought so much warmth and joy to the room. Although the busyness of life meant we did not see each other as much in recent years, I always looked back on those early memories with so much fondness and genuinely missed our time together. It was always a true pleasure to share a conversation and a laugh with him. It was beautiful to see how his family remained anchored in love and respect throughout the years. My heart goes out to his family and everyone who loved him. I am holding all of you close in my thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Rest in peace.

I have been heart broken since I heard the sad news. Please know yall are in my heart and prayers. Richard had a big heart and is worth grieving. I look forward to seeing everyone next week. Hugs and love from Pittsburgh.

I never met Richard’s wife and kids, but my heartfelt condolences go out to all the other Douglas kids and his wife and kids. Peace.

I have many fond memories of Richard, going way back. He was a caring, interesting and funny guy. He was a fantastic father and co-parent who excelled at any hobby or project he undertook. It has been a true pleasure re-acquainting with him in recent years. Rest easy, Richard. You will be greatly missed.
