It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my loving husband, Randy Sullivan. Randy passed away peacefully in his 77th year, on March 21st, following a courageous journey with dementia and a brief battle with cancer.

Randy embraced life with boundless energy and joy. An avid skier, boater, and golfer, he loved nothing more than sharing these passions with the people he cared about—always welcoming the chance to share a glass of good wine and dance the night away. His athletic spirit was forged on the football field, where he proudly played for both the Ottawa Sooners and the Carleton Ravens. That same grit, drive, and teamwork translated into a lifelong dedication to helping others. For over 15 years, Randy served with the Canadian Ski Patrol at Edelweiss, keeping others safe not only on the slopes he loved so much but anywhere he could be of help.

He enjoyed a successful career at Bell, where he thrived on working with innovative technology. Later, he embarked on a second career selling Audis with Mark Motors, perfectly blending his love for cars with his gift for customer service.

Randy was more than a husband; he was my true partner, my best friend, and the absolute anchor of my life. His love was a safe harbour, and his absence leaves a profound void. He came from a large, loving family, the protective big brother of five siblings, a dear brother-in-law, a kindred cousin, and a proud uncle and great-uncle to a vast extended family. Randy was also a fiercely loyal friend to so many throughout his life. While he is deeply missed, his big smile will be etched in our hearts forever.

Please bring your memories and stories to share as we celebrate a life beautifully lived.

“We cannot hold the hand we loved, or see the smile we adore, but we will dance in the memories of the beautiful life you lived, and toast to you forevermore.”

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy through a donation to any of the following organizations would be deeply appreciated: The Dementia Society, the Canadian Cancer Society, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, or University of Ottawa Research.
