Patricia Ellen Woodford (née Robinson)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Patricia Ellen Woodford (née Robinson) on June 28, 2026 at the age of 86. 

Pat was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she married a handsome Royal Canadian Air Force pilot named Ed. Together they embarked on a journey that took them far beyond the Prairies. After Ed joined External Affairs, they embraced the diplomatic life, living in England, Pakistan, Greece, Thailand, and The Netherlands. Wherever they landed, Pat made a home filled with warmth, hospitality and chocolate brownies.

Pat brought her keen organizational skills to many offices throughout her career, including Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg, but she was especially proud of her time as a Passport Officer at the Canadian Embassy in The Hague. Never one to stop learning, Pat achieved a lifelong goal by earning her Bachelor of Social Sciences, with concentrations in Political Science and History, graduating cum laude in May 1990.

She was an avid reader and a devoted member of her Orléans book club, where lively discussions and lasting friendships flourished. She loved cycling, golfing, travelling, and spending evenings at the theatre. An accomplished seamstress, Pat made beautiful clothes for herself and her children, lovingly stitched teddy bears that became treasured keepsakes, and fashioned an unforgettable daffodil costume for her granddaughter’s first Halloween

Pat was predeceased by her husband, Ed; her parents, Lydia and Gordon Robinson; and her brothers, David and Jim. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Susan (Jim) and Andrew (Jenn); her grandchildren, Heather (Zack), Shannon, Tobyn, and Riley; her great-grandson, August; and her sister, Lesley.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Manor for the exceptional, respectful and compassionate care they showed Patricia in her final days. 

A celebration of her life will be held on August 16, 2026 from 1:00-3:00 pm, Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa.
