It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Scott (Scotty) Lancaster at the age of 56 years. Scott is survived by his sister, Tammy Lancaster, his nephew and Godson Christopher Forest Easey, his great nephew Miller John Easey, cousins Lee and Kim Brown and cousins Nancy, Josie and Michael Mousseau who were raised like brothers and sisters to Scott. He is predeceased by his parents David Lancaster and Lynda Payette, his grandfather, Leading Seaman (Retired) R.C.N.V.R. Jean-Yves (John) Payette and his dear Grandmother Grace Payette (nee Hansen).
Scott took great pride in having served his Country as an Infantry Officer with the Governor General’s Foot Guards. He showcased Canada for countless during the Ceremonial Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Parliament Hill. His service spanned from 1988 to 2005 where he met so many friends who he had kept in touch with within the Guards family to this day.
Scotty will also be deeply missed by the Stereo ((())) family, for the incredible memories he helped create, and for his mentorship and promotion of new and emerging talent. Scott was a co-owner of the revered institution from 2002 to 2010.
Scott will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his many friends, who will carry his memory and the incredible mark he left in their lives.
Friends and Family are invited to a graveside service that will be held at Beechwood National Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, Ontario, K1L 8A6, on Thursday 17 September 2026 at 11:00 am, followed by a celebration of Scott’s life at Beechwood from 12-2pm.
