It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Wu on June 16th at the age of 49.  He is dearly missed by his parents Joseph and Emily, his brother Elroy (Kim), his niece Sara, and his nephew Adam, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Upon graduation from St. Pius X High School and then at Carleton University with a degree in computer science, he established a 25 year career at Mitel as a software engineer, maintaining strong work ethics and a special skill in his field.  We fondly remember Ken as an avid golfer, a great volleyball player, and an enthusiasm for dungeons and dragons sessions.  Ken’s generous nature and strong family values is a testimony of how kindness can shape the world.  He will forever hold a special place in all our hearts.

Friends and family are invited to visit at the Beechwood Funeral Home (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa) on June 23rd with visitation from 5:00pm-7:00pm, and on June 24th with visitation from 10:00am-11:00am followed by a celebration of life at 11:00am.

Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in memory of Ken.

  3. As a colleague of Ken’s at Mitel i am deeply saddened by this news. Ken always had a smile and was forever the optimist when working with us in support we knew if Ken was on the case we were in great hands. He will be missed by all of us. Condolences to all of Ken’s family .

  4. Ken was more than a brilliant architect, he combined strong technical knowledge with a willingness to help others in team.
Forty-nine years was far too short for someone with so much still to build. But the systems he designed, the problems he solved, and the people he influenced will carry his thinking forward for years to come.
We are deeply grateful to have worked alongside him. Our hearts are with his family during this unimaginable time.

  5. Always smart and knowledgeable, but more importantly, extremely nice guy. I’ll miss him
