It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ena Silvia Lina Prosperina del Carmen (Pollito) Bascunan Termini, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, sister and friend. She passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at the age of 94.
Lina was predeceased by her husband, Ernesto Chacon. She is survived by her daughters Paulina (Dale), Claudia (Len), her grandchildren Alexandra, Phillip (Alejandra), Caroline, and Audrey, as well as nieces, nephews and their children.
Lina was the matriarch of our extended family, keeping us connected and informed, sharing stories about our family history and always remembering everyone’s birthday.
Lina’s love, warmth, and humour will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Beechwood Funeral Home (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario) on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 2pm to 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local Food Bank in memory of our cherished mother.
