SCHOOLS ONLY-The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day

Join us on 30 September 2026, at the Beechwood National Memorial Center to have the opportunity to visit the graves of Duncan Campbell Scott and Dr. PH Bryce whilst learning about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
Students will begin the day by watching an animated movie called Spirit Bear: Echoes of the Past. Created by the Caring Society, Spirit Bear covers difficult subjects in a way children can understand.
Students will also have an opportunity participate in the action tables and create a heart garden that will then surround the Children’s Sacred Forest through an educational activity.
There will also be an art exhibit displaying artists of all mediums — painting, photography, sculpture, textile, and mixed media — that engage with the TRC Calls to Action, reconciliation, and truth telling in respectful and thought-provoking ways
