It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Leslie Allison Milton on December 7th, 2023, at the age of 61 at the Ottawa General Hospital Campus.

Leslie was born June 21, 1962, in Ottawa to Beverley and the late Douglas Milton.  She is survived by her loving mother Beverley, brother Scott and Sister-in-Law Marilyn, her niece Amy Dolan (Ryan Racine), and nephews Lucas Dolan (Erika Lyall) and Wren Alexander (Matt Radway) also great nephews Liam Dolan, Cohen and Leo Racine and very close cousins Lauren and Colin Mulligan, among many others.

Leslie graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1985 with an Honours Degree in Mathematics. She worked for 35 years with GGFL accounting firm in Ottawa and retired as an associate partner in September 2018.

Leslie enjoyed travelling extensively with her whole family, especially the time she spent with her mother, throughout North America, Europe, and the Mediterranean.  Leslie enjoyed cooking (especially treats for special occasions), playing cards, and Curling at the Carleton Heights Curling Club and made many friends throughout her life.  Her favourite pets were cats, the most recent being Buddy.

Leslie was known for her kind heart, generosity, caring and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society of Canada or Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

The wake will be held at Beechwood Cemetery and Funeral Home on Thursday February 15th , 2024 between 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, February 17th, 2024 at 1:00 PM followed by refreshments.

A private interment of ashes will occur sometime in late Spring 2024.

Leslie and I attended U of Waterloo together. We both then worked at GGFL for our careers, starting our first day together, as co-op students. She had the greatest memory, and was always very concerned about her clients. She brought back lovely photographs from her many trips, as well as providing us with her baking.

My deepest sympathy to Leslie’s family on her passing. She was a lovely woman. She played curling on our Friday Mixed team at CHCC for many years and it was always a pleasure to chat with her. She will be remembered.

I had the privilege to work with Leslie for more than 10 years. She has always been there for me offering her support and guidance. We often talked about her trips and passion to travel. My sincere condolences to family.

It was my honour and fortune that Leslie was my first coach and I was probably her last coachee at GGFL. She told me how to prepare my first planning meeting ; She handed a warm bagel to me after visiting a bagel shop client ; She left a tea gift on my desk and I only saw her back…

She was so intelligent , pleasant and caring. I will miss her dearly and for ever, with much love and gratitude.

Leslie was a lovely person—kind, compassionate and a willing volunteer. We curled together for many years and we also enjoyed playing bridge with her and her Mom. My condolences to Bev and the rest of the family.

Leslie was a dear cousin and essentially a second sister to me. She is a deep loss to me and the entire family. She was always kind, compassionate, and you don't become a Chartered Accountant without being smart and competent. My condolences to her family. I will always have her in my heart...as will will many others.

I was so sorry to hear of Leslie’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her at GGFL all the years she was there. She was always helpful and interested in what was best for the firm and clients. She was our in-house expert on so many things and was always happy to help. She loved to travel with her mom and family, I’m glad she got to do some of that after she retired. My thoughts are with her mother and family who will miss her so much.

Leslie was a wonderful work colleague and mentor early in my career and helped me acquire many of the skills I have relied on ever since. Being a good listener, kind and understanding, having a great sense of humour, focusing on the positives, continuing to grow while maintaining a healthy life balance - that was Leslie! She will be missed.
