It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. Kevin was the most amazing, kind and gentle man - he was our world and his family meant everything to him.  He leaves behind his wife and the love of his life, Kelly, his children Paul (Chantal) and Mackenzie (Brett). He also leaves behind his two grandchildren Philippe and Geneviève. Also left to mourn are his four siblings John (Mary), Michael (Tracy), Janis (Laurent) Bissonette and Joan (Mark) Paul. Also survived by his mother-in-law Lois Mooney, many dear brother and sister in laws, and numerous nieces and nephews both in Ottawa and in British Columbia. He is pre-deceased by his amazing parents John and Lorraine, and loving father-in-law John Mooney.

We are all immeasurably better for having known his loving heart.

Appreciation goes to the dedicated staff at The Ottawa Hospital - General and Civic campuses, who amazed us with their exceptional care. Many thanks as well to the palliative care staff at Saint Vincent Hospital /Bruyère who provided a safe, supportive, and caring environment for Kevin during the final stages of his life.

Friends and family are invited to the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation are greatly appreciated by the family.

Kelly, Paul, Mackenzie and family, words simply can't express how heartbroken I am for you. Kevin was a wonderful person and will be missed dearly by anyone who was fortunate enough to know him. One of my favourite quotes is “Perhaps they are not stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.” Kevin's love for all of you will shine through forever.
I wish you all the peace and comfort possible.
Love, Jo-Anne xoxo

Kevin made us laugh a lot and was generous to a fault. Kind and loving and at times a little tightly wound but always let loose on vacation. I have loved Kevin all of my life and will carry him with me in everything I do going forward. Rest well big brother😘❤️ You will be forever missed.

Kelly: We were so devastated to hear about Kevin's passing. Please accept our sincerest condolences. When measured in years, Kevin left you too soon. There were still many things to do and many moments to share. But life is not measured by the years that you live, the number of breaths you take or the number of beats of your heart. Life is measured by the person you are, the deeds that you do, the joy that you give to others and the love you share. Kevin was all of that and more. He will be sadly missed by all of us but you and the family will forever carry precious memories in your hearts. Know that your sadness is shared by all of us.

We mostly knew Kevin during the recreational slo-pitch days of yore at the RA when we had the pleasure of hanging out with him and the Mooney clan on and off the field. Some of the games could get a little testy but no one kept an even keel like Kevin. I expect that anyone who had the pleasure of working with him would have the same to say.

Our condolences to Kelly, Mackenzie, Paul and the rest of the family for your difficult loss.
