Beloved husband, father and grandfather Elias Lutfallah Sawaya passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in Gatineau Québec. He was born on July 21st, 1936, in Kfarhouna, Lebanon.

He is survived by his loving wife Hoda Chaddad, his five children,  Claire (Brett Garrett), Marc (Line Paquet), Marjolaine (Fadi Ghaby), Natalie (Marc Gingras), Lauraine (Omar Subhani), and by his eight grandchildren. He is predeceased by his brothers, Youssef, Jamil, Georges and his sister Jamileh Bou Simaan.
He will be remembered for his love for his family, his generosity, and for his passion for nature. He will forever live in our hearts and will be dearly missed at all future family gatherings whether big or small.

The family will receive condolences on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 between 9:00 and 11:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, 1161 North River Road, Ottawa, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.

A reception will be held at Beechwood Funeral Home at 2:00 pm following graveside service.
In lieu of flowers and for those wishing, in memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or  Sts. Peter and Paul Church  would be appreciated.

Bala Theresa Singareddy-Gingras

Natalie and family, Elias is now in heaven enjoying eternal peace and looking after his entire family. The whole Gingras family and also the Singareddy family in India as well as Bala Vikasa family are with you. So many wrote condolences from India. Athamma

Our deepest condolences on the occasion of the departure of a husband and a father cherished by all. We will miss him. We share with you your immense sadness but are comforted by the thought that Elias has joined the eternal bliss created by the deep Love that we have for one another, with him in our hearts.
