I first met Nawal and Kamal in Boston when they were students at Harvard. Nawal taught me how to make fatteh from Gaza. The recipe was passed on to our children and grandchildren who love this dish. Nawal will be missed, she was always a delight to be with. May her soul rest in peace !☦️ ?

With a heart full of sadness, we received the news of the passing of our dear friend and cousin Nawal.
I was close to Nawal for so many years; since her annual visit at the University in Egypt.
Kathleen and I visited Nawal and Kamal at Harvard and developed strong bonds. As couples, we exchanged visits in Ottawa and Montreal.
In the US, our telephone conversations were frequent and long-lasting.
Kathleen and I will miss Nawal dearly.
Let her memory be eternal.

Our condolences, may her soul rest in peace. Her philosophy, thoughts and books will keep her memory eternal. The song is ended, but the melody lingers on.

I received the news of the passing of my dear friend Nawal with great sadness. I have known Nawal since we were teens at school in Gaza, and I will forever cherish the memories of our friendship from Gaza to Kuwait to Ottawa and Montreal. Her kindness, warmth and intelligence will be incredibly missed. May her soul rest in peace. My sincere condolences to the whole family and to Diane.
