It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of David “Dave” Escaravage. He left us living one of his passions: exploring the world and forging new friendships.

He was that rare person whose interests knew no bounds, as did his love of all that life had to offer. He was so curious and knowledgeable. While his passing was premature, Dave lived life as he wished  - intensely and with the sense of adventure and fun that defined him.

He will be deeply missed by his cherished partner Robyn Weiss, and his beloved children and grandchildren:  Emily (Sébastien), Marika (Tiberius), Eric, Noémie, and Céleste. He is survived by his brother Marc, sister Irene (Yves), aunt Yvonne (Len) and many nieces, nephews, friends, as well as his dog Guinness with whom he shared an incomparable bond. We will all miss his boundless energy and infectious laughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people remember David by helping out a friend, neighbour, or stranger. Donations can also be made to Canadian Blood Services

A celebration of Dave’s great life will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023. Please RSVP here.

In the meantime, we invite you to post anything you are moved to share in the comments below.

Uncle Dave was always in good spirit, always joking around, very witty, outgoing and loved / lived life to its fullest. The world is a lesser place without him and he will be sadly missed.

We were heartbroken when we learned of Dave’s passing. Dave was our rear neighbour and when we moved into his neighbourhood in 2018, he was very welcoming. He made our family immediately feel a part of the neighbourhood. Our son, Olly, was then just 5 and he and Dave immediately became best friends, so much so that when Olly was upset with us one time, he even said to us: “I’ll go live with Dave now!” :-) Olly looked up to Dave and listened to him more than to us. I totally saw why – Dave was just so personable and charismatic and an ideal role model to Olly. We and the immediate neighbours became very close the moment the pandemic shut down everything. We spent time in his open backyard chatting, while being strangely apart for conversations – the pandemic-safe place to socialize. We’ll miss many things about him; his smiles, his laughs, walks with the dogs in the woods, … His passing is a BIG loss to us all. Our condolences to Robyn and family.

I'm very sad to hear of Dave's passing. When I worked with him at Andersen Consulting he was always upbeat, personable, and willing to offer advice and help out. Sincere condolences to the family and his friends.

I only recently got to know Dave through the Orleans Tennis club.
I was a new member and he talked to me like we were life long friends, always happy and laughing regardless of the score, a high quality individual.

My sympathy to the family. I enjoyed playing afternoon tennis at the club with him. He had an infectious smile and was super friendly to everyone. Gone too soon.

My maman, née Marie Escaravage, was Dave's dad's sister. I have fragmented memories of a golden childhood summer with David & Irene when the stayed with us in Winnipeg...I am so sorry I missed out on the rest of his life. My heartfelt sympathy for Robyn and all of his family and loved ones.
