Every year at Beechwood we host a series of special community events, most of which are open to the public and free of charge. Some of the events include our Annual Historical Walking Tour with costumed actors, our Christmas Candlelight Service with carolling and tree lighting, and our bilingual Annual Memorial Service, which we have done for over 40 years.
We host occasional educational lectures by local historians and teachers, concerts by the Ottawa Chamberfest and a Memorial Butterfly Release for bereaved families.
Beechwood has partnered with local groups and charities to better serve our community. In association with No Stone Left Alone, we lay poppies on headstones in all sections of the National Military Cemetery. As a partner with the Department of National Defence, we hold a Remembrance Day Service.
We also offer a guided historical tour of the Beechwood grounds on the last Sunday of the month, free of charge. Led by trained volunteers, this 1.5 hour stroll is a great way to learn more about Beechwood and Canadian history.
We invite you, your family and your friends to join us for our many special events that take place throughout the year.
