Jamie Wells is a seasoned funeral and cemetery professional with over 40 years of experience in the bereavement industry. Originally from the Greater Toronto area, Jamie earned his Funeral Director's licence after attending Humber College in Toronto.

As a Family Service Counsellor at Beechwood, Jamie brings four decades of knowledge and compassion to his work, helping families across the National Capital region navigate some of life's most difficult moments. His depth of experience and genuine belief that we have a responsibility to care for one another guides every interaction.

Beyond his professional life, Jamie is a former pilot with an enduring passion for aviation and space exploration. A lifelong science enthusiast and nature lover, he also maintains a keen interest in politics and community life.

Originally, from Hawkesbury, in Eastern Ontario, Stéphane is fluent in both French and English. He started in the profession with a childhood dream at the age of 15 with the local funeral home.

Prior to completing his education at Humber College in Toronto and receiving his Embalmer and Funeral Director’s License in 1993, he enlisted as an infantry soldier with the Governor General’s Foot Guards (GGFG) of Ottawa where he had the honour and privilege of performing in the traditional Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Parliament Hill and Rideau Hall, and the opportunity to receive several dignitaries and Heads of States. He remains, to this day, a devoted member of the Governor General’s Foot Guards Association.

Given his Military background, he takes great pride in providing funeral and cemetery services to all of our four Military, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ottawa Police and CSIS families in the unique setting, traditions and beauty of the historic Beechwood National Cemetery has to offer.

Stéphane has one daughter, Melinda. They are both avid Formula 1 racing fans.

Born and raised in Ottawa, Tania realized early that her intended vocation was to be within the bereavement profession. Attending Humber College in Toronto, in 1996 she earned her Funeral Director’s license. In January 1997, Tania joined Beechwood as a Family Service Representative.

Currently she serves the needs of families from across the National Capital region. Tania is also a board member of the Ottawa Women’s Canadian Club and actively involved in community initiatives with local business owners who provide specialized services to our aging community.

Among Tania’s contributions was the initiation and implementation of Canada’s 9/11 Memorial located at Beechwood.

Raised and educated in Ottawa, François Chartrand is fluently bilingual and has deep-rooted relations with our Franco-Ontarian community. Beechwood is thankful for François’s contribution as an active member of the Bruyère Steering Committee. With a career path that has spanned various industries such as life insurance and office equipment marketing, over the past 15 years François has attended to and served families in the bereavement industry with dutiful care and compassion.

Married to Suzanne and a proud father of two children, Mélanie and Jean-Philippe, François enjoys traveling, golfing and the company of good friends. He has been with Beechwood since March 2003.

Manon Bourbeau was born and raised in Ottawa and is fluently bilingual. While still in high school, she chose the funeral industry as her career, and in 2000 obtained her funeral director’s licence. After working in funeral homes in both Northern Ontario and Ottawa, she joined Beechwood in 2005. Although Manon is heavily involved with the areas set aside for the Military and the Ottawa Police, as the National Military Cemetery Coordinator and OPS Memorial Service Cemetery Liaison, she is able to help all families from all walks of life. An avid runner and a student of taekwondo, Manon spends a lot of her free time being active. Manon is married and the proud mother of a young son.

An Ottawa native, Bryan began working in the funeral and cemetery industry in 2012 and has been with Beechwood since 2016. Having occupied many roles within the industry, and having worked with many different communities, Bryan has a unique understanding of the value Beechwood offers, and the effort that goes into making each aspect of our service as meaningful and easy as possible.

In addition to his formal training as a Licensed Funeral Director and Licensed Cemetery Sales Representative, Bryan has also undertaken courses in Contemplative End of Life Care, Vipassana Meditation, Home Funeral Education, and Hospice Care Ottawa’s Hospice Volunteer Training.

Outside of work, Bryan enjoys spending his time with his wife and children, reading, spending active time outdoors, and working in the garden.

Winnie was born in Hong Kong and came to Canada in 2000 to further her academic education. In 2002, she was nominated for the Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards, in recognition of her active involvement in the community.

Winnie’s extensive experience in customer service, which spans over 18 years, attests to her proficiency in this field. Winnie commits to providing an exceptional service which, along with her empathetic nature, motivated her to join the Beechwood family with a passion for serving families.

In addition, she is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, further enhancing her ability to serve diverse families. Winnie values spending quality time with her family and enjoying a shared love for diverse cuisines.

She also loves biking and visiting the cottage during the summer season to explore the beauty of nature with her family.

Born and raised in Montréal, Tyler spent nearly a decade working at the Mount Royal Cemetery and immersing himself in the rich and diverse culture of the city. While in Montréal, he earned a Technical D.E.C. in Art Direction & Design at Dawson College.

He later earned a Bachelor’s degree at OCAD University in Toronto, where he studied on scholarship and wrote his thesis on the value of time and beauty.

In 2020, he moved to Ottawa to be with his family and returned to his roots in the bereavement industry here at Beechwood, where he worked his way up to become a Cemetery Counsellor after spending a year with the grounds crew, and another year with the financial department. Currently, he works to serve his families with warmth and compassion.

In his downtime, you can find him biking, woodworking, eating cheese, and cherishing his life with his partner, Karine.

Camille (Cam) Latreille is a native to Ottawa. She has been working at Beechwood for many years and has occupied various positions before becoming a Cemetery Counsellor and Funeral Preplanning Specialist.

Her post-secondary studies and credentials and her previous work experience have all been in the client-service industry. As such, she is able to accompany and support families and significant others in all the phases of funeral planning. Always respectful of her client’s religious beliefs and cultural practices and rituals, she is able to help you plan the ceremonial commemoration of your loved one, in accordance with your funerary customs and principles.

She is fluent in English and in French and is continuing her linguistic education in Spanish and in German. Camille is married and the mother of 3 children and she is sensitive to the fact that death occurs at any time in the spectrum of life.

Being an active listener, you will be greeted competently, with compassion and humanity, because Camille is passionate about providing families with the highest level of quality and care.

Melanie was born and raised in Ottawa where she attended Algonquin College attaining her diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies (honours). Upon graduating, she received the ‘Barry Robinson Advocate Award, for exemplifying her passion for helping others with empathy and leadership, in the classroom and in the community.

Prior to her move to Beechwood, Melanie worked in the healthcare industry where her passion for helping our vulnerable society came into practice. She offered her support and compassion for residents, and their families, during end-of-life care. Most recently as an Recreational Therapist for a non-profit long-term care facility. These experiences have further solidified Melanie’s wish to help others.

While on maternity leave, she also obtained her Pre-Planning Funeral Licence from Humber College. Further exemplifying her wish to help families navigate all items for end-of-life needs.

Melanie is the proud mother of a one-year-old and loves to spend her spare time enjoying the great outdoors and baking with her daughter.
