SUMMARY:GENERAL H.D.G. CRERAR MEMORIAL WALL UNVEILING
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, October 29\, 2026 | 1:00 PM National Military Cemetery at Beechwood  – Near the Tank Monument Remembrance is more than looking back. It is a responsibility we carry forward. Join us at Beechwood Cemetery for the unveiling of the General H.D.G. Crerar Memorial Wall\, honouring one of Canada’s most significant military leaders and the commander of the First Canadian Army during the Second World War. General Harry Crerar’s legacy reminds us that remembrance must extend beyond words and ceremonies. It requires a commitment to preserving history\, sharing stories and ensuring that future generations understand the service and sacrifice of those who came before them. This unveiling will officially mark the beginning of Beechwood’s annual Remembrance period\, leading toward November 11. It is a fitting occasion to reflect on the importance of active remembrance – not simply remembering those who served\, but taking meaningful action to honour their contributions and carry their legacy forward. Through education\, community participation and commemoration\, we ensure that remembrance remains a living responsibility. We invite veterans\, serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces\, families and the wider community to join us for this important occasion. Remembrance is not passive. It is something we do.
