Unveiling the Sir William Stephenson Commemorative Plaque at the CSIS National Memorial Cemetery

Join us on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the CSIS National Memorial Cemetery at Beechwood Cemetery for the official unveiling of a new commemorative plaque honouring Sir William Stephenson.
Known internationally as “Intrepid,” Stephenson played a critical role in Allied intelligence operations during the Second World War, helping strengthen cooperation between intelligence services and supporting efforts that shaped the course of the war. His legacy remains deeply connected to the evolution of modern intelligence and national security.
The new plaque, located within the Parade Square of the CSIS National Memorial Cemetery, will serve as a lasting tribute to his service, leadership, and contribution to Canada and the Allied cause.
This special ceremony will bring together members of the intelligence, defence, and security communities, veterans, dignitaries, and members of the public for a moment of remembrance and reflection.
