Before the screen lights up and Jumanji begins, join Beechwood Cemetery for a special themed walking tour through the grounds of the National Cemetery of Canada.

Timeless Tours connects familiar stories from film, literature and popular culture with the remarkable people buried at Beechwood.

For this adventure, the mysterious world of Jumanji has arrived at the cemetery. Ancient creatures have appeared. Wild animals are approaching. The jungle is spreading. The map is incomplete, a mountain blocks the route and a final message is waiting somewhere far to the north.

To finish the game, we must assemble the right expedition team.

Participants will meet eight scientists, explorers, artists and adventurers whose real-life experiences provide the skills needed to complete the journey.

Lawrence Morris Lambe understands creatures from the distant past. Rudolph Anderson identifies the wildlife. Henrietta Tuzo Wilson finds the route over the mountain. James Ashfield preserves the evidence. Kenneth Chipman maps the way forward. John Macoun reads the landscape. Faith Fyles protects the team from poisonous plants. Jack MacKenzie receives the final signal and leads the expedition north.

These remarkable individuals never travelled together. Most never met. Through their stories, however, they form an extraordinary expedition team.

Following the tour, guests are invited to remain on the Mausoleum lawn for an outdoor screening of Jumanji, presented by Capital Pop-Up Cinema.
