Passed very peacefully at the age of 84 with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side. He was the son of the late João Fernandes and Maria Dos Santos and loving husband of Serafina Ledo. He will be sadly missed by his children João Fernandes (Carol), Celeste Soares (Tony), Lucy Mesa (Sergio) and Victor Fernandes (Ana). He will also be missed by 9 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and his brother Jose Fernandes (Joaquina). He was predeceased by one sister Gloria Dos Santos Amaral (Agostinho), and one brother Manuel Fernandes (Ibraima).
A private family visitation and funeral service will be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre.
Close friends are invited to visit Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery, and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 between 10:00AM and 12:00PM. Due to government-imposed restrictions related to COVID-19, gathering limitations during the visitation will be in place. Visitation of guests will be on a rotational basis with guests required to sign in and wear a face mask at all times within the facility.
Burial Rites of Inacio will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at 2:00PM at Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa within Section 101.
In memoriam donations can be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or to Dementia Society of Ottawa.
