Heather Louise Avery, age 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2019, at the Hull Hospital in Gatineau. She was born September 22, 1956, in Halifax, to Sydney Walter and Frances Mae (Richards) Avery. Heather was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Richard.  She was a 1974 graduate of Queen Elisabeth High School in Halifax. She married Jean-Pierre Lessard on August 1, 1992, in Aylmer Quebec. As a mom her love for Nicolas and Véronique was unconditional.  She worked as a director within various departments for the government of Canada, and is remembered by her colleagues as a very compassionate co-worker. Heather truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, meals and spending time travelling with her hubby. Heather had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She is survived by her husband, Jean-Pierre; two adult children, Nicolas (Marjolaine) and Véronique (Julien); a sister in law, Cathy (Garnhum) Avery; nephews and niece Richard (Diane), Jason(Ashley),  Chad(Katie),  Heather and cousins. Family, friends, and others whose lives Heather touched are invited to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course, have a party after the celebration of life as requested by Heather.

J.P. That was a beautiful "eulogy" to Heather. I agree you had a perfect balance of Love, Respect, Humour, and Irreverance! As is apparent by the online comments she touched many lives in a deep and meaningful way and I feel fortunate to have been one of them. I find it almost impossible to believe that she has gone so quickly. As I said before I don't know how you and the kids can bear the loss.
Of course all those people who loved Heather loved you as well and will be keeping the three of you in their thoughts and prayers.
God Bless.

I have known Heather for many years as a mutual friend of Marian Miller, and always enjoyed her positive energy, kindness, and welcoming smile. Wishing the family comfort in the many lovely memories you have clearly built with her, once you get through this heartbreaking time.

Heather was like family. She was sweet and kind, with an awesome sense of humour. I will always look back fondly when i think of the 3 Amigos (Marian, Lana, Heather) and their crazy adventures.
You will be missed!
Godspeed, until we meet again.
R.I.P. Heather
