Alfonso (82), formerly of Pascuale’s, Don Alfonso, and most recently, 222 Lyon Tapas, died peacefully on September 12th, 2021 at his home in Ottawa surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Laurie, his dear son, Mateo and stepson, Kyle.  He will be dearly missed by his brothers, Manolo (Encarna), Pepe (Salome - RIP), and Antonio, and sister, Aurora (Juan), his nieces and nephews and their respective families (Ana - RIP, Jose, Pucho, Rose Mary, Marisa, Tony, Oscar, Nadia, Juan-Manuel, Nicolas and Claudie), cousins and many friends.  Born and raised in San Cristovo (Galicia, Spain), he was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Perez Mouriño and Benigna Fernandez Rivero.

Alfonso was a kind and compassionate human being, always lending a hand to anyone in need. He was a family man, and was the happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He lived in the moment, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

A visitation will take place from 4PM to 7PM on Sunday, September 19th, 2021 at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa, ON).  In addition, a private memorial Service will take place on Monday, September 20th, 2021 at 10AM at the same location.  Given COVID restrictions and maximum attendance guidelines, please contact Marisa Perez (613-263-3353) to pre-register your attendance to either of these events. You’ll never be forgotten that simply cannot be. As long as I am living, I’ll carry you with me. Safely tucked within my heart your light will always shine; a glowing ember never stilled, throughout the end of time. No matter what the future brings, or what may lie ahead, I know that you will walk with me along the path I tread. So rest my angel, be at peace and let your soul fly free. One day I’ll join your glorious flight for all eternity”

What a sad loss, we will remember Alfonzo and my thoughts are with Laurie, Mateo, Kyle and his family. May you put your tears on the wings of an angel and watch it fly away. RIP Alfonzo.

Josee Labrosse and Jacob Mitchell and family

Alfonso was, in response to our question - "how are you?" always beautiful. Kind, honest, funny, caring, nurturing, and motivating - encouraging Mateo, Jacob, Alex 'the three amigos' to be the best they could be, in hockey and in life. We are deeply saddened by his passing, his suffering, and that the drifting circumstances of the boys' graduation and covid conspired so that we were not present as we would have wanted to you - Mateo, Laurie, Kyle, and Alfonso. We will honour Alfonso always - including making great use of the paella pan he let us keep! with all our love, Josée, Jacob, Emma, and Josef
