A first class family man and an esteemed member of the Canadian Armed Forces

On April 5, 2020, Marc Rouleau passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 54. Marc was thoughtful in his words and actions, always quick witted and he lived with intention and purpose. Most of all, he took unmeasurable pride in his family's team-like approach to life and unconditional love for one another.

His legacy lives on through his wife and best friend Nathalie, his children Nicolas (Mary Anne), Alexa (Jean-Christian) and Michaël (Marina), his loving mother Diane (and late father Normand), his brother Mike, his mother-in-law Colette (and late father-in-law Roland), his brothers-in-law Guy (Jocelyne) and Denis (Paula), his nephews Kevin (Stéphanie), Jonathan (Sonia) and late Marc-Alexandre, his niece Annabelle (Dante) and his first grandchild. After being diagnosed with cancer, Marc's known resilience was exemplary and his desire to fight never wavered.

A church service will be held at a later date in Orleans, Ontario for family and friends to celebrate Marc's life.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Ottawa Hospital Eye Institute or the Canadian Cancer Society.

I stand in shock before this shattering news. Marc was a high school friend in Québec city. Too young to leave his young family. Kind regards to all his loved ones and my deepest sympathies.

It is with profound sadness that we learned of Marc’s passing. Having worked closely with Marc as his deputy for a number of years, I recall how he often spoke of his wife, Nathalie, and how proud he was of his children, Nicolas, Alexa and Michael, and his brother, Mike. Our hearts go out to the whole family and his friends, along with our hope that your memories of Marc will help ease some of the pain of your loss.

Marc was a consummate professional — I knew him through his communications work, where he was outstanding. This is a shock. My deepest condolences to the family and his many friends and colleagues.

Colonel (Retired) Ralph Coleman, Colonel Commandant, PA Branch

This is very sad news. I served with Marc's father, Norm, in 5 RALC in Valcartier 1970-72. Then, when I was the Colonel of the PA Branch 1996-99 watched with pride as Marc etched his everlasting footprint on the PA Branch. I was so happy to see him eventually also become the Colonel of the PA Branch in the years following my service. He left a powerful legacy that still benefits the Branch today. Marc was an exceptional and outstanding officer, family man and all-round human being that I was blessed to know and call a friend.. This is a premature and profound loss for us all. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

On behalf of myself and the Imagery Technician Occupation, I would like to express sincere condolences. Col Rouleau directly impacted our community, and we are immensely grateful for his vision and leadership. We are now well down the road to fulfilling that vision for the PA Branch, and we all owe a debt of gratitude to Col Rouleau. Our heartfelt condolences to the Rouleau family in this difficult time. Veritas!

To Nathalie, Nicolas, Alexa, Michael, Mike and Lison,
