With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Jean Clédor Antoine who passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 75.

He was the son of Thérèse Elien and Jean Pierre Antoine. He was the husband of Janine St-Fort Antoine and loving father of Stéphane St-Fort.

In his younger years, Jean Clédor was a man of adventure who lived and travelled throughout different parts of the world, from Haiti to Guadeloupe and Argentina, before eventually making Canada his home. Through his journey, he brought with him a strong work ethic and determination, working hard to build a life and raise a family.

No matter how far life took him, Haiti and the family he left behind always held a special place in his heart. He made a point of staying in constant touch with his loved ones back home, keeping those family connections strong across the miles. His Haitian heritage remained an important part of who he was, and he found comfort and joy in listening to Haitian music, which kept him connected to his roots and the culture he loved.

He will be missed by many nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his older sister Elmase Loreston and older brothers Camille Loreston, Ambroise Antoine, and Magloire Antoine.

Visitation will be held in Beechwood’s National Memorial Centre, at 280 Beechwood Avenue in Ottawa on Friday, November 6th, 2026 from 6pm to 8pm. The family will receive condolences at the church beginning at 9:00am on Saturday, November 7, 2026, followed by the funeral at 9:30 am at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes church located at 435 Montréal Road in Ottawa. Burial will follow the service, with a reception afterward at the church.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at the General Hospital for their compassionate care.
