Lynn Brown MacGowan:

Designer, ARIDO

Left us peacefully at home on Sunday September 20, 2026, at the age of 72. Beloved wife to Bill MacGowan. Dearest sister-in-law to Joann MacGowan (Doug Stephenson), Karen MacGowan and Jo-Ann Brown (Lee Brown). Fond aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; Donna (née Inglis) and Walter Brown, and her brother Lee Brown.

Lynn’s life journey covered several Corporate Design Positions in Toronto and included the building of DLB Design Inc, a boutique Interior Architecture Design House focused on retail, hospitality and custom residential.

Her life’s mark was shaped by the intersection of:

1. The Great Outdoors of Thunder Bay (The Sleeping Giant, Lambert Island, Lake Superior, Silver Islet, Loon Lake)
2. The entrepreneurial spirt she inherited from Walter and Donna Brown (Walter Brown Jewelers, Thunder Bay)
3. Her love of design and construction

The foundation of her philosophy was built on the Modernist Movement, Impact of Colour, Taliesin West (Frank Llyoyd Wright School of Architecture), the influence of light and the blend of German, Scandinavian, and Italian design.

Lynn believed in the power of family, friends, creating good meals and conversation.

Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate Lynn’s life on Friday October 2, 2026, at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa from 3:00 to 5:00pm
