It is with great sadness that I announce the accidental death of my brother, André Gosselin, which occurred on 8 September 2026 at the Sacré-Coeur-de-Montréal Hospital, at the age of 58. He was the husband of the late Mrs Amal Chaoui Mzabi, and the son of the late Mrs Ginette Fortier and Mr Clément Gosselin (Ginette Fecteau). He resided in Gatineau.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Yasmine, his sister Linda Gosselin, our second family – Aunt Marguerite Fortier (the late Paul Lapointe), his cousin Roch Lapointe (Diane Després), his cousin Yvette Lapointe (the late Denis Jacques), his cousin Colombe Lapointe (Thérèse Landreville), his father-in-law Ahmed Chaoui Mzabi (Rkia), his sister-in-law Mounia Chaoui Mzabi (Ali Skaki), his niece Nermine Skaki, his nephew Chadi Skaki, and his very dear and cherished friends René D’Amours and Danie Roy, as well as many cousins, relatives and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday October 10, 2026 in the Hall of Colours of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa (ON), K1L 8A6, after 12:00 noon. Funeral service will take place in the Sacred Space at 2:00pm, followed by burial at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces and a reception.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heredity Neuropathy Foundation of Canada or the ALS Society.
My brother was a hero throughout his life, having served in the Canadian Armed Forces, as a member of the United Nations, and as a volunteer with St John Ambulance. He made numerous blood donations and, two weeks ago, he made his 150th plasma donation. To mark the end of his time on this earth, he donated his organs. My brother will always be a hero.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Blainville Police Force, the staff of the Emergency Department of St-Eustache Hospital, and especially the intensive care team at Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal Hospital for their support, their willingness to listen and the comfort they provided throughout this difficult time. A special thank you to Annie-Pier, our nurse liaison, who supported and guided us every step of the way.
Rest in peace, my little brother.
