Suddenly in Atlanta Georgia on Friday November 22, 2019 at the age of 56. Predeceased by his parents Janice (née Patterson) and Gordon Black and brother Owen Black. I sat right next to Matt for a year or so, and worked with him closely on his big planes. I never told him this, but I used to call him my own personal curmudgeon. I think he would have found it amusing - just like I think he used to enjoy appearing grumpy, because a scant moment later, he'd be belly laughing at something. It never took much. Rest in peace, my friend.

High Flight John Gillespie…

High Flight
John Gillespie Magee, Jr
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, --and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of --Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Saddened to learn of Matt's passing. Condolences to family and all whose lives were touched by him. Best wishes for peace and comfort in the time
ahead.
He will be remembered.

My condolences to the Black family. I met Matt while I was working at Orleans Hobbies what a great guy he was. Always up for a chat about planes and anything military related.

Prayers go out to the family.

Matt était un collègue de travail que j'ai beaucoup apprécié connaître. Son calme, son intelligence et sa bonne faisaient plaisir à voir. C'est très triste qu'il soit parti si jeune. Mes plus sincères condoléances à toute sa famille.
