It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Margot Holmes (née Paul), with her daughters by her side, on Sunday July 5, 2020 at the age of 89.  Beloved wife of the late Daniel McNamara Holmes.  Loving mother of Daniel (Nicole), Robert (Mary K), Kathleen (Matthew), Christopher, Alan (Denise) and Angela.  She will be missed by her 10 grandchildren.  “GG” will also be missed by her 6 great-grandchildren, as well as her sister Dona (late Leon Massel), her brother the late George Paul and many friends.  A special thank you to Dr. Farey as well as the staff of Oakpark Retirement Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margot’s name to the Parkinson Canada.

Due to the health risks during this pandemic, there will be no funeral service.  Margot’s ashes will be buried with her late husband Daniel at the National Military Cemetery at Beechwood. In keeping with social distancing guidelines, we suggest that anyone wishing to pay their respects do so at the gravesite, as of Friday, July 10, with their own family,at a time of their choosing.  If you need information to do so, please contact Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 613-741-9530.

I share in your grief at the death of your dear mother. I had the great privilege of sharing with her in the Women of Grace small group at St. Patrick's where we journeyed on the road of living life filled with God's abundant graces. Margot was a great inspiration to me these past 7 years, & exemplified how to live as a disciple of Christ in our fallen world. May the Lord Jesus, Our Risen Saviour bring her to the joy of her new life in Heaven.

Margot was a lovely person with the ultimate heart of gold. She was a wonderful neighbour to our family for about 55 years! Her kindness to my mom, and her frequent visits to Mom after she moved to the Perley (a daunting undertaking) will not be forgotten.

My sincerest condolences for the loss of your dear mother. My parents Ian and Una held your parents in high regard. Your mom would drop off flowers out of her garden weekly to my mom when she was still residing at 37 Crownhill after my father passed away. My mother had alzheimers but your mom would sit and hold her hand and talk of the good times. I will never forget that kindness. R.I.P Mrs. Holmes.

Dear Bob, Mary K and Family,
So sorry to hear about your mother. Although we never met her, just by looking at her picture you can tell that she was a very loving, kind and caring mother.
Thinking of you,
Debby, Jazmine and Chloe Lajoie
