It is with great sadness that the family of Jeffrey Orange announce his sudden passing at home on October 3, 2024, at the age of 53. Jeff will be lovingly remembered by his wife Andrea Allevato, his father Winston (Lucille Parizeau), and his sisters, Kelly (Guy Lacasse) and Tracy. He was predeceased by his mother, Sandra Platt. Jeff will be greatly missed by his numerous other family members and friends.

Jeff was a big man with a big heart, and an even larger-than-life personality. While he faced struggles in early adulthood, he overcame them with strength and determination. He always held the memory of his beloved mother, Sandra close to his heart. He valued his marriage and family above all else. His family, friends and colleagues will miss his sense of humour, his generosity and the way he could talk to anyone about anything, especially movies or music.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Thursday, October 17th from 6 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church, 2345 Alta Vista Drive, on Friday, October 18th at 11am. Reception to follow in the church hall.  Memorial donations may be made in Jeff’s name to the Ottawa Food Bank.

Condolences to his family and friends I worked with Jeff at Sympatico and recently connected with him on Twitter. At Sympatico, we always knew when Jeff entered the room - his smile and enthusiasm energized the room. May he rest in peace

I am so saddened by the loss of a great colleague. I had the privilege of working with Jeff for a couple of years and he took me under his wing. No matter the situation, you could count on him to crack jokes and make everyone laugh. Thank you for being the "all in" guy, making the most of every situation. You will be missed. I don't think there was ever a meeting I had with him that he didn't mention you, Andrea. My deepest sympathy to you and the family.

Dear Andrea,
I am so sorry for your loss. I could see, even from afar, how much you loved Jeff. Hold on to your memories. XXOO

Unfortunately, it had been many years since I had last seen Jeff. Even though it’s been a long time, I remember our days at Sympatico like it was yesterday. Sitting in the café talking about everything and nothing. Everyone liked Jeff, how could you not! He made friends easily and we all knew him as a sweet heart with the larger-than-life infectious laugh. As soon as anyone said “you know Jeff! He’s the one with the bright blue eyes and booming voice”, and they knew right away who is was. My heart goes out to his wife, Andrea. And to the rest of his family and friends who are heartbroken by his passing; I hope that Jeff can see just how loved he is and that his life mattered to a lot of people.

My deepest condolences to Jeff's family and friends. I never met Jeff, but I feel like I knew him by the loving way his sister Kelly talked about him. May you all draw close to each other and draw strength from one another at this devastating time.

My condolences to his family and friends. Jeff was one of my first colleagues at Bell when I started in 1997. He was such a nice guy and was the first one to want to offer his help when it was needed. I’m really sad to hear of his passing.
