Dr. Jean Leduc died peacefully in Hawaii on October 1, 2019 at the age of 64. He was predeceased by his parents, Drs. Ishbel and Jean Leduc. He is survived by his wife Dr. Kathleen Rielly and daughter Adrienne, both of Honolulu and by his daughter Leonie (Paul) of Colorado Springs. He will be missed by his brothers David (Wendy) and Marc (Lianne) and his sister Susanne ( Jonathan). Jean will be fondly remembered by his cousins, especially Louise (Richard), Nancy and Cathy and by his aunts and nieces and nephews. His long time dear friends, John Neufeld, Cheryl Anne Smith and Joan Fletcher will cherish their memories of their time spent with Jean. Sincere thanks to his devoted caregivers, Faune and Luse of Honolulu who will miss him dearly.

Jean graduated from the University of Ottawa medical school in 1979 and completed his training in cardiac surgery at the Heart Institute in Ottawa. He worked briefly in Long Island, NY before practicing for years in Honolulu until he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Although unable to operate after his diagnosis, Jean continued to work in the ICU until he was no longer able to do so and remained on the ethics committee of his hospital for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed photography, tending to his koi and studying astrophysics.

Interment of his ashes and celebration of life will be held at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11 AM.

Rest in peace dear Jeannot. We will miss you. With love and aloha.

I worked in the Kaiser CVICU with Jean. He was certainly the sweetest and MOST caring physician I have ever worked with. I’m so sorry for your loss.
